    Danville Baptist Church Mission Statement

It is the mission of Danville Baptist Church to bring glory to God by loving Him and others through a life of worship, service, fellowship and missions.

Danville Baptist Church Doctrinal Statement - Our Beliefs

    W
e believe the Scripture of the Old and New Testaments to be verbally inspired by God, inerrant in the original writings, and the supreme and final authority in faith and life.

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and is true God and true man.

We believe that man was created in the image of God; that he sinned, and thereby incurred, not only physical death, but also spiritual death which is separation from God; and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature.

We believe that the Lord Jesus died for our sins, according to the Scriptures, as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice; and that all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood.

We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His ascension into heaven, and His present life there for us, as High Priest and Advocate.

We believe that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will personally return and set up His Kingdom wherein He will rule and reign in righteousness.

We believe that all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God.

We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the blessedness of the saved, and the retribution of the lost.

We believe that water baptism and the Lord’s Supper are ordinances to be observed by the Church during the present age. They are, however, not to be regarded as means of salvation.

    Danville Baptist Church Covenant

    H
aving been brought by divine grace to receive Jesus Christ as our Savior and LORD, and on profession of faith, having been baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit:  We do now covenant with GOD and with one another, as one body in Christ.

We will, as GOD shall enable us, walk together in brotherly Love; we will remember each other in prayer; we will care for the happiness and prosperity of each other; we will participate in one another's joys and endeavor with tenderness and sympathy to bear one another's burdens.

We will sustain public worship by regular attendance and support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the Gospel through all nations.

We will maintain habits of personal prayer and Bible reading; we will earnestly endeavor to bring up our children and those under our care in the nurture and admonition  of the Lord; we will seek to win our fellow men to Christ; and will endeavor so to incarnate the spirit of Christ and to express in our lives the strength and beauty of the Gospel as to make attractive to the world the life of Christian discipleship.

We moreover engage that, when we remove from this place, we will as soon as possible unite with some other church where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of GOD's Word.
