    Psalm 66 says,

    Shout with joy to God, all the earth!

    Sing the glory of his name;
    make his praise glorious!

    Say to God, "How awesome are your deeds!
    So great is your power
    that your enemies cringe before you.

    All the earth bows down to you;
    they sing praise to you,
    they sing praise to your name."

    In Psalms, David encourages us to sing our praises to God. At the Danville Baptist Church, our Praise Team and choir leads the congregation in worship as David did for his people. The choir sings in church twice a month with rehearsals once per month after morning worship. This schedule works well for those who work on weeknights or cannot drive at night. We are not professional singers and some don't read music. We do not sing as a performance for ourselves, but rather as a performance for God. When we sing for Him, we offer up our voices as a gift of praise. Without Christ, music would be only noise.

    We also have a Cantata Choir for Christmas and Easter. We have rehearsals on Sunday mornings before worship and Thursday nights. These are special programs including beautiful music blended with narration telling the wonderful message of Christ's Birth and Resurrection. The cantatas are where we pull out all the stops to spread the Good News! It is challenging and exciting and our prayer is to be a blessing to God and to the congregation, and to reach the unsaved.
